Scheduling scans

Scheduling lets Vortex run scans for you on a recurring cadence, so security testing keeps pace with your releases without anyone having to remember to launch a scan. You manage schedules from a calendar view.

  1. Go to VortexSchedule.
  2. Add a schedule and set:
    • The target site to scan.
    • The scan type — Analog, AI, or API.
    • The intensity.
    • Any test users to attach, for authenticated scanning.
    • The cadence — the day and time the scan should run.
  3. Save it. The schedule appears on the calendar and runs automatically on its cadence.

Each scheduled run produces a report just like a manual scan — see Reading a Vortex report.

Open a schedule from the calendar to change its target, scan type, intensity, test users, or cadence — or to delete it. Changes take effect from the next scheduled run.

Scheduling generally requires Growth or higher. It does not receive the welcome-scan tier bypass that lets new accounts try a first scan — so if scheduling is unavailable on your plan, you’ll need to upgrade. Check pricing in the app.

Gotcha: deleting a site doesn’t delete its schedules

Section titled “Gotcha: deleting a site doesn’t delete its schedules”

Deleting a target site does not automatically remove the schedules that point at it. Clean up the schedules yourself when you retire a site — otherwise you may leave orphaned schedules behind.
